Yes, I've contacted him before and put a query out in their newsletter, but didn't hear anything. I may try again and see what happens. I have a feeling that cousin Oscar was a replacement because we have a letter envelope dated in December of 1944 from Camp Maxey, Texas that Oscar had sent to my Grandmother. In December of 1944, the 99th Division was already in Europe and was in the Battle of the Bulge. I'm not sure when Oscar got over there. I may check with relatives to see if I can get a copy of his DD-214 and see what date he arrived in Europe. Long story short, if he was a replacement, there may not be anyone out there that remembers him in the 395th. He was also older than most, joining up when he was in his 30's. Thanks for the reply.
