Thanks for replying.I do not have very much more information about Hendrick van Essenhoogh.It is thought he was born between c. 1723-1725, somewhere in the Netherlands of the time, possibly Belgium.Someone told me to try the area of Essen-Hoek.I have searched some Belgian and Dutch records online, but have found nothing so far.Hendrick was certainly in England by 1745, and he married in Canterbury, Kent in 1747, and raised a large family.I am descended from his youngest son.In England, he changed his surname to Essenhigh.Are you able to help me in any way?Anything would be most appreciated.
