Did your folks come from Crich, Derbys?
Dear All,
Just in case this may be of benefit to someone, can I just mention that I have two web sites, created to inform and be of help to those (like me) who happen to be researching their Family History. The first is about the Parish of Crich here in Derbyshire; this is the village where I have lived all my life. Crich Parish at one time also included the villages of Crich itself, Fritchley, Crich Carr, Whatstandwell, the hamlets of Wheatcroft and Wakebridge, also Bullbridge, as well as the other villages Tansley and Wessington. Part of present day Holloway was also, at one time within the parish of Crich. The Crich site is a little more advanced in terms of information available. It contains information concerning Baptism, Marriage and Burial records from the Crich Parish Registers, as well as a variety of articles about the history of the parish and its people. There are also a number of photographs depicting views of Crich Parish as it is today. The "address" for this site is as follows:

The second site concerns the nearby Parish of Dethick, Lea and Holloway, where my RADFORD ancestors had their home. The Dethick, Lea & Holloway site is again intended to contain the same kind of information, as does the Crich site. This can be found on:

I do hope folks will find these sites interesting, and if I may be allowed to add, should anyone have any information that might prove a helpful addition to the site, do please get in touch with me. I would only be too pleased to consider any submissions. I am particularly interested in information on individual folk, or families that may have originated in any of the above places and eventually moved, either to another county here in the UK, or perhaps overseas. For instance some of your ancestors may have been amongst the first immigrants to the USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand etc.. I would love to hear about them, with any interesting stories that you may have.
If you have a web site of your own that perhaps details your family history, particularly if it relates to ancestors who came from any part of Crich Parish, or the Parish of Dethick, Lea & Holloway. Then please e-mail me the 'URL', and also do a little bit of a resume about the site for me, so that it will tell people what your site is about, I will be happy to add a 'link' to your pages from either of the above two sites.
This is my first 'visit', I look forward to 'meeting' many new friends within GenForum and I think that the ability to access other forums, with different areas of interest is a great idea and I am convinced that I shall be 'visiting' often!
Warmest regards to all,
Alan
