WIGHTMAN's in New York/Canada

Does anyone have a CLUE?
Looking for a connection of a sibling, parents, any family member of;Thomas E. Wightman, b. 07 July 1874 in New York.The family thinks he was born in Blattsburg, but I have not heard of this town, maybe Plattsburg?The family may have come from Canada?We have no other family names.It is thought that Thomas left home at an early age, reasons unknown.He married Mildred Hill in Colorado and roamed the Western States searching for gold.He finally settled in California.Any wild guess's will be appreciated, or some rock to look under.He is not listed in Wade Wightman's Book "The Wightman Ancestry".Mildred Marian Hill was born in Cleveland, Illinois, and the family or she moved to Manhantan, Kansas.
