Elleys in Ontario in 1850's

There are so few of us that it is very difficult to trace the family history.I do know that my ggrandfather came from Ireland with his two brothers in the 1850's because of the potato famines. He was drowned on Lake Erie.His brother I think settled in the Hamilton Area and I think we had relatives who used to live on the Hamilton Mountain Area.His son Richard was my grandfather and my Dad was named John.Ring any bells with anyone?
