John Giles of Canada/Monroe Michigan
Hi, I am a newbie and am researching my wife's family tree. I traced her family back as far as the 1870 & 1880 Monroe, Michigan censuses to John Giles.
In 1880, he was living (age 30) with his wife Kate (age 32) and sons Fred (age 7), Enos (age 5) and James (age 3). He is listed as born in Canada, with his parents from England.
In 1870 he was 21 years old (so, born in mid 1849?), living with his siblings James (age 18) and Emily (age 16) – all three born in Canada. The three Giles’s are listed as living with William and Mary Johnson (age 60 & 50 respectively), both born in England. There is a fourth child given - Cecelia Johnson (age 13, born in Canada).
Does anyone have any information on this person? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
