Alexander MacFarlane, Gulf Shore (Pugwash), Nova Scotia, farmer, born 1794 in Scotland, was Margaret's father.He was married twice, and Margaret was from his second marriage to an Unknown MacLeod born about 1795 in River John, Nova Scotia and who died about 1831.Miss MacLeod had a sister who married a Gillis who also lived at Gulf Shore.Margaret's siblings were:Alexander MacFarlane,Jr., Donald MacFarlane, Malcolm MacFarlane, George MacFarlane, Nancy Baillie, Henrietta MacLeod and Catherine Cooper.Alexander Jr. was her half-brother, born from his father's first marriage to Sarah MacLean.

Alexander MacFarlane, Sr. was the son of Murdoch (Murdock) MacFarlane, who came from Scotland to Pictou, NS around 1813.Murdoch drowned in Pictou Harbour, so his wife and family moved to Gulf Shore.Murdock MacFarlane, Jr. and Christina MacLeod, Alexander's siblings were also born in Scotland.Alexander died December 2, 1871 in Pugwash, NS..

I am Catherine Cooper's greatX3granddaughter.I would love to get a copy of the MacFarlane photo, if it's at all possible.
