FROST - Possible English connections
My FROST family was from the Island of Als, my great-grandfather immigrating to the USA from there in the 1870's.I have followed my family line back to a Christen FROST who lived in Ulkebol Parish in the late 1600's.The first FROST to appear in records of the Island of Als, however, is one Claus FROST who appears in 1533.The FROST surname has been known in Denmark since the 14th century.
My grandfather visited Als in 1913-1914 and, while there, was told that the first FROST in Denmark came from England to train horses for the Danish government.I have found no evidence to prove this story, and it is possible FROST could have developed in Scandinavia, independent of England.

Any thoughts on this subject would be welcome.
