Hennig NIELSEN/RASK>Hejls/1930's-present

Hi all!

I am missing a relative. He would be in his mid-late 60's by now. His name is Hennig .N.I.E.L.S.E.N. or .R.A.S.K.. I don't know which surname he was given or is using.

Family lore tells that he has one arm due to an accident during his teens; worked at the war memorial concession shop near the danish-german border; and moved to Koebenhavn where he made/makes his living as a house painter.

These stories could be true, or just gossip. I have been to the concession shop twice and it was closed.

Hennig was born in the early 1930's in Hejls / Hejls-Minde, Soenderjylland. It is South of Kolding, East of Christiansfeld and North of Haderslev.

His mother is Johanne .N.I.E.L.S.E.N. and she could still be alive. She was in her early 20's when Hennig was born. His father is Peter Andreasen .R.A.S.K.. All of Peter's other children are now deceased, including my mother's father, Nis.

Peter was born in 1860 and married Anna Katrine .B.O.N.N.I.K.S.E.N., in May 1883. She died in 1929. Johanne then lived with Peter until his death in 1942.

Johanne lived in their house for a bit, then sold it to the Boy Scouts. The organization later sold it to the father of the current owner. It is now used it as a summer house.

I have been to the summer house for tea, and to the (tiny) archives in Hejls. We found a record of Johanne paying the fire insurance on Peter's behalf.

It was all done in a rush with no real documentation. My big ears trying to hear everything, hoping to understand .a.n.y.thing. Somewhat of a nosey bulldozer.

I did get to a local cemetery with micro-recorder in one hand and camera in the other. Found the graves/stones of a few other relative, and some possible relatives; but, no Peter, Johanne, or Hennig.

I have notes for a wish list, but no local DK contact info.

So, I'm at least half-dressed up and no where to go. :-) .Any suggestions? .Websites, addresses, any thing will help. I would love to graft this branch onto my tree, where it belongs.
