Mary Tant, Widow, Talbot Inn Yard, Red Lion Street, London
Does anyone have any more information, particularly her husband and any children, as she may be the key to discovering my TANT ancestry in England.
This Mary was involved with the Talbot Yard Inn, according to her Will, at LMA Reference XO 19/032:-
Basically, three TANT males arrived in Scotland in the Evanton and Cromarty areas, 1820 to 1830.
All are likely to have experience in trades associated with Inns etc, as they worked in Scotland as Butlers, Vintner, Inn Keeper and Exciseman.
There are various pointers to their being related - BUT NO HARD PROOF:-
Similarity of occupations
Same employer and post for two of them - Butlers to Alexander Fraser
Using the same or very similar, BUT UNUSUAL Names for their children and the next generation, These are both from within and across those three lines; and also from the employer, especially "Evan Baillie Fraser TANT".
Two next-generation male, separate-line, TANTs marrying sisters PLUMMER in Edinburgh
