In 1901 Jonathan may have been in South Africa (the Boer War, 1899-1902)

freebmd have Eleanor Hudson and Jonathan Clarke marrying Dec 1896 quarter in Sunderland registration district - did they have children before the 1901 census?That would be a good way of pinning Eleanor down.

I assume you have that marriage certificate and the one between Eleanor Clarke and Charles Edward Storey (listed on freebmd as Jun quarter 1909 in Sunderland) - do those agree on her age and her father's name, etc?You might also want to take a careful look at the witnesses - often these will be family members.

Was her father listed as deceased by the time of her marriage to Jonathan?To Charles?To Wilson?
