"Flight of the Wild Geese"

By genealogy.com user August 15, 2000 at 06:42:30

1690's... I am looking for my 4th g-grandfather's (BALTSER DIERY), possible migration route. He came to America in 1752 from Oberhoffen, Germany w/ wife and son. Changed his name back to DERRY before the American Revolution. It has always been believed that our family came from Ireland. However, it is possible that his family fled the persecution in the 1690's from Ireland to mainland Europe. That was known as the "Flight of the Wild Geese".
Any info would be great.
Thankyou,
D. Doc Derry
