Michaelis and Dorty
John:Unfortunately, the books I have are not vital records, but, government records that were signed by lots of the locals all through the years until 1933.It helps trace a name, but not much more.
I would write to the Evangelisches Pfarramt on Helgoland and ask for the birth and marriage record from the church books. That should do the trick. The only thing that might go wrong is that 1829 might fall into a period of missing church records--I can't remember what's missing. Otherwise, it's a very straight forward search for them.
If I can help you any further don't hesitate to ask.Judy Rieke
