Federico, thanks for replying, actually my group of wolters name was wolter and various members of the family added the s as they pleased. I seriously doubt that I will have much luck tracing their line into germany.
The wolter clan had a very dark complexion with black hair from what pictures I have. there seemed to be a fascination for large sea shells in the family as I have a set in my curio cabinet that my grandmother gave me and said her grandparents brought them from germany. 2 years ago I went to Indiana to find my great grandparents graves, they had a tall marker which had a little room at the top and there in that area bleached white by time and the elements and undisturbed by human hands were the identical mates to my shells.while at the same cemetery I also discovered the graves of my GG Grandparents and fortunately the cemetery was pretty well documented.Heinrich Wolter married Gesche Maria Thielbor and his son Frederick married Victoria Klintworth, another son John married Rebecca Heisman, and I don't know what the other children did, they were Heinrich,Friedrich Wilhelm,Maria Margaretha, Hermann Jobst, Helena Sophia, and George Heinrich, and these names were carried down through the generations, my grandmother married a Ruble which we susposed to be Russian but I have that clan traced to Bavaria 1684, my mother was named in true tradition Fredericka Whillimena. if per chance you ever run across any of my lineage in the your future searches please let me know.Jim
