The first German 'Blicklen' family arriving America dropped the 'n', and became 'Blickle'.(My grandfather William Frederick Blickley, 1885-1922, added a 'y' so that the surname would be pronounced correctly.) The only American 'Blickle' family I know of are my great-grandparents John Blickle Sr. and Anna(marie) Herrmann (different spellings in different records) who married in Grand Rapids MI on 13 January 1876--producing Will (my grandfather), Fred, Mary, and John Jr.I am seeking a connection between the'Blicklen' family in Germany and John Blickle, Sr., in America.
Is anyone on this Forum related to this family? Or does anyone have information about this surname?
