Trying to trace Marwaha family members
I am trying to help a friend who would like to trace any surviving siblings. Her mother's name was Shrimati Kamlavati Marwaha. Father's name was Shree Amarnath Marwaha. Her father was killed in (now) Pakistan in about 1946 and her mother travelled to Delhi with 6 children. At the time she was pregnant with my friend. They arrived in a refugee camp in Delhi and my friend was born there in 1947 and at about one year old she was (officially) handed over in December 1948 to the British wife of an Indian doctor practising in South Yorkshire, England and was taken to England. She was adopted in England in May 1949 and given the name she now has. The authorities estimated her birth date as December 1947. She believes she had 6 siblings, one who may have been a pilot in Canada and (another) a teacher somewhere. She has no papers recording her birth and only one or two relating to her passage out of India, also her adoption certificate dated 10 May 1949. Any ideas?
