The name Patterson/Pattison and families of same can be found in Northern or Ulster Ireland.The counties of Northern Ireland is where Scottish protestants settled at first under Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.When they came to America they were known as Scots-Irish or Scotch-Irish.When I was in Ireland, Southern, it was made very clear that my name was to be found "up North".I thought that this would help you by limiting the area of Ireland, at least for a time, where you would have to look.A.
