Cockcrofts in Ireland

I have several Robert Cockcrofts in my family lines. I am trying to find information regarding them. These are my lines:

Matthew Cockcroft - went to Ireland 1798 as a soldier
Robert Cockcroft - born about 1827 - Ireland
Robert Cockcroft - born about 1842 - Ireland
Robert Cockcroft - born 22 July 1868 - Ireland
Clement Cockcroft - born 22 March 1899 - Ireland
Walter Cockcroft - born 8 Feb 1928 - USA

I think there might be a generation missing between Matthew and the first Robert - could even be another Robert!!

Any information will be welcome.
