I understand that you're trying to go back a generation.And it's a shame that there are no censuses prior to 1901.But if you look at the census records for those years, which are scanned in their entirety at
you'll see that there are multiple pages for each individual.
The civil record of their marriage would show the names of the fathers of the wedding couple.And the registration district would give a clear hint as to which church to look for.I don't know if you want to spend money, but the General Register Office
would have a copy of the record.I believe they'll send you the civil registration without making you purchase the certificate, and I believe it's less expensive to do that.Since you know the names of the couple, and you are fairly certain they married in Dublin, I'd write and ask. In my experience they generally do a search for two years on either side of the date you suggest, so if you think they were married in 1895, say, they'll look for that couple between 1893 and 1897.Good luck.
