I search the IFHF's online database at ROOTSIRELAND.IE. It has abt 20 M church, civil, census, etc for MOST Irish counties. Records before 1863 are increasingly sparse and almost non-existant before 1800. Protestant records are the least likely to have survived. From the sound of the surnames, I strongly suspect the two weren't RC.
For Mary Boylan M 1860 +/- 5 yrs, Co. Louth, I found 11 records; however, NONE are to a Phillip Boylan, or just the surname Owen.
Civil B/M/D registration began in 1863 and was mandatory. These records MAY exist for their offspring. Suggest you either search the above database with the children's names, or contact the General Register Office at GROIRELAND.IE.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
