I search the IFHF's online database at ROOTSIRELAND.IE. It has abt 19 million B/M/D and other records for MOST Irish counties. Records before 1863 are increasingly sparse. By 1800, they are almost non-existant. Many B/M/D events either weren't recorded, or haven't survived.
For Ernest Croft B 1886 +/- 5 yrs, somewhere in Ireland, with the father's forename unknown, I found 1 record: 1888, Co. Roscommon. The father's forename for this record is Fred, mother's Elizabeth.
For B(ridget) Bennett B 1890 +/- 5 yrs, somewhere in Ireland, with a father forenamed John, mother Ann(a), I found 2 records, both in 1885: both in Co. Meath. (These may be duplicates). However, the mother's surname is neither Simpson, nor does it begin with an "S."
Hope this helps. Will leave it to you to decide whether to chase these rabbits further.
