James Hammill (Hamill) born before 1800 had John Hamill who married Catherine Dailey, also born before 1800.

Patrick and Catherine had:
1. James
2. John b.1812 m. Maria b. 1814 N. Jersey
one son- Samuel b. 1834 New York
3. Patrick b. 1818 m. Maria Reichert b. 1824 Germany
The family moved to Dixon, IL.had many children
4. Isabella b.1828 m. Hugh Duffy from Aughnamullen, Monaghan b. 1829 (my gg-grandparents
Also had many children and lived in Dixon, IL.

It's very possible you are my cousin. I don't know how many Hamills there were in Monaghan.
