I know it's been a long time since you posted this message, but my boyfriend has a CalogerA ALA in Naro in the mid-1700's. (She married Alberto Dispinseri and had Maria Dispinseri in 1781.) He also has a Francesca ALAIMO in his tree, b abt 1800 in Naro, her father was Giuseppe Alaimo. (She married Diégo GALLO bef 1821.) You and he are probably related, but I don't have a firm connection, just a hunch. I would check FamilySearch for your Alaimo's and Ala's, because they have a good collection of birth, marriage and death records transcribed from Naro. Ancestry also has a lot of great passenger lists and manifests for the Sicilian immigration wave of the 1900's-1930's.
If by any chance you see this message, please feel free to respond by post or by email. If I find a connection to your family, I'll reply to the post again.
