Searching for info on Dr. James MOODIE/Mudie (spelled both ways depending on which source you look at), a physician in Jamaica sometime before 1769 had a daughter Jean who married William KEITH of South Carolina, son of Dr. William KEITH and Ann ____. Jean and William married in 1769 Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1772 there was a Dr. James MOODY who came from Nor. Ireland to Edinburgh Medical school and graduated in 1772. I am wondering if there might be a link between these families. Info from the University Registrar records emailed to me. I can find no information whatsoever on this Dr. James MOODIE/Mudie of Jamica however and am wondering if someone here might be able to help me. We have a Ydna link to a branch of MOODY's (prob. orig. spelled MOODIE) from the Darlington Co., SC area and so this is my interest as many of the early Moody's in SC may have come there from Scotland. So far our Ydna does Not match to any of the Moody's from England, but we do to those who were in Nor. Ireland (Ulster regions only). I have always believed our Moody family came over from Scotland but am having a heck of a time proving it. If anyone here might have further info on this Dr. James MOODIE of Jamaica whose daughter was Jean I would be most greatful. Thank You.
