You might be out of luck.If your relatives' information was kept in one of the major cities that was regularly fire-bombed, then there's a good chance you won't be able to recover any reliable information.For example, my relatives live in Hiroshima wheremost official records were lost in the atomic blast.It's next to impossible to get older information, unless it was reconstructed.One alternative is to see if any of your family came from small cities or provinces in the surrounding area, then check the ward office there.You might get lucky.Good luck in your search.
