Looking for information on: Tanaka/Oyama

My greatgrand father is Suehiko Tanaka born 10-13-1878 in a small village in Kumamoto-Ken his fathers name is Tadahei aka Takahei he had a brother name Sakuhei. He married a woman by the name of Chiyo Oyama her fathers name is Sahei aka Saihei and mothers name is Yeshi aka Ishi. We recently got a hold of the Tanaka/Oyama crest. I heard that we need to go to the temples to get some information. I would really appreciate if anyone out there would give me some information on these families. Mahalo,
