A Japanese family in Korea
Hi, tracing some of my Japanese family roots. From Japanese records I've discovered one branch who settled in Korea. Torao Hirokane and Tamayo Tamada had three children, one born in Japan and two born in Korea, which meant they most likely arrived in Korea between 1929 and 1931:
Hiroshi Hirokane
B. 27/7/1931 in Kasuga, Wonsan-si, Hamgyongnam-to, Korea
Akira Hirokane
B. 20/9/1933 in Yamate, Incheon, Korea
I have found nothing else about this family and would love to know more. Did they return to Japan? Did they stay in Korea?
Any advice on tracing Japanese families in Korea during this period of history? I understand this period of history is sensitive and apologise if anyone takes offence to my post.
Best wishes,
Phillip
