John, I must apologise for not including everything I know about the name.I simply threw the name out on the slim chance that someone might recognize the sound of it if not the actual name. The man's full name was Anastazi Kolymenos and he was born somewhere in Latvia right before WWI.I don't have any other information I'm afraid. However, someone has suggested taking out a vowel or two and running the consonents together to make something more like Kolmenoff or Kalmenis, etc.The first name Kolmenoff is Ukrainian and any others I have thought of are...I don't know what.I'm trying to use soundex reasoning to come up with a more correct spelling of Kolymenos or Kolmanis or anything resembling those sounds.Again, I apologise for not being more explicit and thank you for reminding me to be more so.Linda
