Coals to Newcastle, perhaps, but the name Kornegay entered my family in Duplin Cty., N.C., when Whitfield Grady (b. 9/01/1798, d. 10,17/1880)m. Elizabeth Kornegay (b. 12/17/1802, d. 10/16/1866). Her parents, Wm. Kornegay & Charlotte.As far as I know, from Duplin Cty. Children: John K., Charity, Frederick, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Elisha, James Baley, Sally, George, Lewis, Durham, Nancy & William, and the name was Gnagi or Gnagy.
