GENHO (1830s-1930s): Beruit > Nebraska

My great great grandfather, Salim Nasralla GENHO, came to America in August of 1892 via NY, NY. He was born in Beruit, 25 Dec 1874 to Nasralla GENHO and Agea HAG. His paternal grandparents were Guirguis GENHO and Wardi. These families were all reared in the Orthodox tradition.

Salim was the oldest of six children. The other were Amin WARDI, Alexander GENHO, Naguib GENHO, Catherine GENHO and Amma GENHO. This family was spread out between Lebanon and Egypt.

Salim married Winifred Johnston Moore in 1898 and became an American citizen in 1901, both in Nebraska. Together they had seven children. Eldon Selim GENHO (two GENHO children), Webb Johnston GENHO, Amy Florence GENHO (three ROBINSON children), Ross Moore GENHO, Agea GENHO (two ELDRED children), Winifred Awilda GENHO (four STRANDBERG children) and Leatha Jeanette GENHO (one GENHO child).

I am a great grandson of Agea GENHO who married John Elliot ELDRED in 1926 in Holdridge, Nebraska.
