I just discovered this forum and thought it might help me in discovering information regarding my ancestors.Would appreciate any information any of you could provide.I have quite a bit but it is disjointed and I am trying to put together a cohesive history of the family. The family is from Barhalioun, a municipality in the Beecharree District in the northern mountains of Lebanon. My father's name was Mike Karam. My paternal grandfather was Tanous Karam. My mother's maiden name was likewise, Karam. Her father's name was Slaimen.Tanous and Slaimen were brothers.Slaimen married Adma Jouradini(sp?), whose family is from Choifat.Slaimen & Tanous had several other brothers, whose names are: Daniel, Najib, Demetri & Michael. There may have been a Raymond. My paternal grandmother was named Mercedes Trad, also from Barhalioun. My maternal grandmother was Emma Jouradini. She had the most education of anyone in the family, having graduated from the University of Beirut. Emma had two sisters: Mariam & Bulina who reputedly live in Brazil. I don't know anything else about the Jouradini side of the family except that there are many of them presently in Mexico.I located one Jouradini in Australia but don't know if he is related, and he doesn't know either. A cousin is Chor Bishop John Trad (Maronite) and another cousin is John Sandaroussi.Migrations in the early 1900's by both sides of the family were made to America, South America and Mexico. Many of those who migrated to Mexico, later migrated to South Texas during the Mexican Revolution.Hope this detail will trigger some recollection of something you might have learned about the Karam family.Thanks.
