My grandfather (my father's father) is also an Esseff. His orignal name, before moving to Canada in the early 1900's (I believe it was 1906), was George Esseff Khoury. After he moved to Canada, he changed his last name from Khoury to George. From what I know, we also have family in Australia that decended from our Khoury family in Hardine.
My grandfather worked very hard in his early years in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada selling clothing and footwear from a pack over his back traveling by foot from town to town.Along with his goods for sale, he would offer news from the city to his customers, many of whom did not even have a radio to keep up with the events of the nation. He married his best friend's daughter (also from Hardine, and moved to Mexico in 1911) and moved her from Mexico to Canada. They had 7 children, all but one were married. My Situ is still living in Canada with her unwed daughter at 92 yrs old, and she is in good health. All my Aunts and Uncles from my father's side are living and in good health. One of his sisters lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania and lives very close to many of the descendants of the Khoury family from Hardine (many of whom live in Pittsburgh and Willkes-Barre and Scranton, PA).
I now live in Texas.
Can you please tell me a bit more about yourself?
Regards
