I believe I found your Theodore Jacobsen in the 1930 US census with his wife of one year, Gladys. They were residing in Assembly District 3 of Brooklyn in Kings County, New York State.
The 1930 census says that Theodore was born in Norway ca 1905, as were his parents.Theodore supposedly emigrated Norway in 1923.
Gladys was born ca 1906 in New York. Her parents were born in Norway.
In checking the naturalization records I found a naturalization certificate issued 23 Jul 1929 for:
JACOBSEN, Theodore (Trygve Jacobsen)
Residence: 312 - 68th St., Brooklyn
In checking the emigration records in the Norwegian Digital Archives I found the following:
Trygve Jakobsen Rønningen
born 8 Jul 1904
Residence: S Odal (this is a parish in the region of Solør, which is in Hedmark fylke)
Date of Emigration: 3 May 1924 from the port of Kristiania (old name for Oslo)
Traveling with Trygve aka Theodore was:
Ole Jakobsen Rønningen
born 21 Jul 1898
Residence: S Odal
Date of Emigration: 3 May 1924 from the port of Kristiania
Sør Odal is a parish of which I am not familiar with farm names nor the priest's handwriting (I specialize in Grue, Brandval, and the Finnskogs for those two parishes - also in Solør).
According to the on-line digital archives for the church records:
Hedmark, Sør Odal/Strøm, Ministerialbok 6, 1886-1931, p 150, entry M 37
Trygve was born 18 Jul 1904 and baptized 23 Oct 1904.
