Re: Frycki and Malec from Krakow/ area ?
If I may give you a friendly advice from your family origin Poland, it would be very difficult to locate here any person with the surname Frycke, as it seems that Frycke is not right spelled in Polish, supposinlgly it's FRYCKI, here are the results of the search with 1990 Polish census and best Polish etymologist Prof. K. Rymut's work from the Institute of the Polish Language in Krakow:
Nazwisko Ogolna liczba Rozmieszczenie
Surname - Totally - Location/main Polish town/province
Frycki 32 El:8, Ks:2, Lg:13, £d:1, Ol:3, Op:1, Wr:4
= only 32 adults with the surname Frycki, and most of them from the town Lg: Legnica/area, SW of Poland.
Ggrandparents from Poland/old province named as Galicia/Austria:
TEODOR FRYCKI ?
Indeed, you must search more with the U.S. records, to have the EXACT confirmation of their place of birth, the best are their naturalization papers giving that place, all Ellis Island and other immigration port ship manifests of all family & friends immigrating to America from that part of the Europe, etc.
Hope this helps a little in your wonderful roots search,
