Our friend Norbert found for you the most important on the planet in all genealogical search info, the detailed names from the ship manifest, tracing this very moving family record, and see the full manifest: http://www.ellisisland.org/search/passRecord.asp?pID=101988150165http://www.ellisisland.org/search/passRecord.asp?pID=101988150165 - we have your ggfather young Piotr John Bogan (Bogon) 30 y old, going on the same ship with his young wife Aleksandra (20 y old), and her brother Jozef (Joseph) (15 y old), to Canada to join their uncle/cousin Hrynko Szewczuk.
Now, the big challenge for you would be to find their place of origin in Poland (Austria - Galicia in the 19th c), they gave it on the ship manifest as "Biczkowicz", and acc to my knowledge and "all night work" it may be three places located in South Poland: BUCZKOWICE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buczkowicehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buczkowice or BOCZKOWICE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boczkowice,_Lesser_Poland_Voivodeshiphttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boczkowice,_Lesser_Poland_Voivodeship BUT! All they family names (Bogan/Bogon, Leganczuk, Szewczuk) I see as possible Lemkos-Ruthenians with a Greek Catholic religion, and this may be as BICZYCE (DOLNE or GORNE), SE Poland: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biczyce_Dolnehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biczyce_Dolne = Let's hope the right is BICZYCE, very old village noted from the year 1255, our Polish genealogical sources are telling that the RC parish in the 19th c was PODEGRODZIE, thus, you can search family records with LDS microfilms at nearest you LDS library in Canada: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetailsprint.asp?titleno=705052http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetailsprint.asp?titleno=705052 But I'm not sure of Greek Catholic records, maybe it was NOWY SACZ? Matter needs deeper search. =
Finally, here is something I want to share with you, my work about Lemkos/Ruthenians, on the bottom of my webpage you can note all about the Lemkos' story & culture, maybe valuable for your FAMILY HISTORY BOOK: http://www.narodowa.pl/Pamietniki/33/eksponat.htmhttp://www.narodowa.pl/Pamietniki/33/eksponat.htm
Hope this helps in your search, good luck.
