I have always been somewhat of a history buff, and I am particularly interested in WW11.Unfortunately, while it was my best subject in hs, I'v forgotten a lot of what I've learend.
I wonder if anyone reading this, had ancestors, brothers, uncles, fathers etc, who were in that war.I'd like to hear personal stories of some of what went on during those first days(especially) after Germany invaded Poland.
My uncle was of Polish ancestry, his parents were born in Poland, he here in MA.
I'm afraid I don't know my Polish Geography as well as I wish I did.Which parts of Poland were the first to be taken over by the Germans,.?How were those residents treated by the Germans?Later when Russia moved in, how did, things change for better or worse.?
I know I could go to history books etc, to learn some of this, but its not the same as hearing personal stories. even if I don't know the folks involved.
My uncles name wasAlexander Kotarski, his fathers name was Louis B. Kotarski. I wonder if maybe Louis could have been in either ww1 or ww11.
Anyway thank you for your time, and any help you may be able to give me.
