rescue from Poland - DUCZYMIN, the possible homeland of families Skowronski, ...
Hi dear friend Norbert, and Margaret,
I'm here in Warsaw for a moment, and use my Polish databases, trying to help also dear Margaret, as w/o the correct name of ancestral place nothing might be found out in family old country Poland, my guess:
This old Polish village, located in central-north Poland, in the Masovia province, counted in the time of living of Margaret's Polish ancestors, in 1821 acc to Slownik Geograficzny: 23 homes, and 141 inhabitants, and full historical info with Slownik is here:
DUCZYMIN now is in gmina (administrative commune) CHORZELE, and powiat (county) PRZASNYSZ, and powiat Przasnysz was the part of "Plock Russian Gubernia" in the 19th century.
DUCZYMIN parish in the 19th c was not Chorzele, but Slownik confirms it was DUCZYMIN, the filia of parish KRZYNOWLOGA.
DUCZYMIN parish/civil records with FHL/LDS microfilms available in the US:
Checking surname location with Polish censuses 1990/2002, and Polish phone directory:
I. In this village DUCZYMIN in present-day Poland: no families surnamed SKOWRONSKI, and DOMBROWSKI (Polish equivalent is DA~BROWSKI).
II. In this village/gmina CHORZELE: as above.
III. But, in this main local town PRZASNYSZ:
1. Elzbieta Skowronska, Przasnysz, Poland
2. Andrzej Skowronski, Przasnysz, Poland
3. 24 Poles surnamed Da,browski - from Anna Da,browska - to Zbigniew Da,browski.
For Margaret's Family History Book here are base virtual tour to her family Poland:
The view of family ancestral church in this DUCZYMIN (in the 19th c it was filia of parish Krzynowloga):
The family Skowronski/Dombrowski-Da,browski's beloved land of the birth and childhood in Poland, and all their ancestors, here are few images of this flat and beatiful land:
Of course, only Margaret might confirm with this Duczymin's church/civil books, if this is the right location.
Hope this helps,
