RE: ROSS, James Buchanan

I am trying to find exact year and place of birth for ROSS, James Buchanan.He was my great grandfather and married in Australia in 1884.Australian/Victorian death records show he was born in Scotland in or around 1864.I dont know when he came to Australia as I have no other details and would appreciate any help.
