John and Catherine Turnbull, Missouri

I am looking for information on John who stated his occupation was "taileor" and Catherine Turnbull who emigrated from Scotland, they arrived at New Orleans, 27 Oct 1843, aboard the ship Metoka.Their children;
Margaret age 18
Betsy age 13
John age 12
Georgina age 9
William age 7
Catherine age 5
The same family is found in St. Louis for the 1850 census, John again lists his occupation as "Taylor".
I believe this couple is the same John Turnbull who married Catherine Grant, 20 June 1814 at Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.
If anyone has any information regarding this family please respond.
