Neil family/Scotland to West Virginia USA

I am taking a great leap and thought I would ask about the Neil family that came from Scotland and may have settled in West Virgina or Virginia before the division of Virginia. All I have to go by is that they had a son Raymond James Neil who was born in 1880 either in West Virginia or Virginia. Does this ring a bell with anyone's research.Thanks.
