Lajos Reich

It is with great sadness that I write of the death of our great friend and benefactor, Lajos Reich, on January 15. It was a great joy to him to help so many of us search out our Slovak and Hungarian ancestors, and to teach us history in the process. A few of us fortunate ones were able to meet Lajos in person as he acted as host when we visited Hungary. There we got to more fully appreciate his great store of knowledge, his humor, and his generous spirit. The last few years were difficult as he struggled to overcome cancer, but he was offering his help up to the very end. It kept his mind off his problems, he said.

We will miss him very much.
