Looking for Sovenian relatives
Hello:
It was suggested that I write to the Parrish Priest and I did this for Vekke Lasce, as well as a few names of Prozniks in Mid-October. I have tried to get into the websites and phone books for Racicia, as there may be more Prozniks to look for. My computer is onky able to do so much and I have also been told that I have a firewall that will not allow access to some areas. I was wondering if someone would know about anyone else that I can write to. So far, no one has written back from Vekke Lasce, not even the priest. I would be in debt to anyone who may be able to help. This is what I have so far:
Is anyone able to help me find a relative/descendent who is living in Slovania and I would like to make contact with. I have written letters to relatives whom I think I am related to. I just have the enclosed information and would appreciate any help.
Thank you.
I am of Slovenian heritage and from the Iron Range of Northern Minnesota. I was born in Eveleth, Minnesota, and now reside in Eau Claire, Wisconsin because of economics and health issues. I am hoping you may be able to help. My great-great-great grandfather Andrej was born in about 1874 and his last residence was in Velike Lasce, Slovania. His Port of Departure was Bremen and his Port of Arrival was New York City, New York aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm Der Grosse.. He came to America in 1889 in the United States (Agnes could be Agneza or Neza) (I think was Andrej's wife)..
It was discovered Neza, Agnes or Agneza) Praznik was 21 when she came to Eveleth. From Pristova . There was a Josef Praznik who was 23..and from Pristova also. Agneza and Joseph came to the United States in 1900.
In Eveleth, Andrew and Agnes had three children (2 boys and a girl). They had Mary, who was the oldest at age 9; Andrew, 6; and Louis 3.
Great-great-great grandpa Andrew passed away on May 27th 1942 in Eveleth. The family plot is in the Eveleth, Minnesota, Cemetery.
Great-Great-Great grandpa’s son (Andrew) in 1948 of a brain embolism He was 48. He had a son named (William) who is my father. He has 3 children William (me), John and sister., Tracy. My Dad married my mom, Phyllis Jean Novak in 1957. In 1996 my mom died of cancer. I now have one child, a boy, William III; my broth has three children, Nick, Ethan and Lauryn and my sister has two boys and a girl, Brantley, Matt and Winter.
I was told that there are about 233 Prozniks in the phone book. And it was thought you may have, or know where, the records may be to help my search.. The last name has changed through the years but now is spelled Proznik.
