Frances Kumar birth village Slovenia or Austria

My grandmother was born 1886 possibly in Slovenia, Austria or on the boat coming over.Her married name is Ferkull or Ferkulj.She has an older sister Emma born in 'Hungary??' and the remaining siblings were born in Chicago.Any information you can give in helping me identify her birth village would be greatly appreciated.Thanks, Gloria
