Wesleyan Settlers to Natal 1850
On 28th Sep 1850 the vessel "British Tar" arrived in Port Natal, carrying settlers from Plymouth in Britain.

On the ship were listed 83 Wesleyans including gardeners, farmers labourers, a tin smelter, sugar planter, cooper, quarryman, plumber and candlemaker, their spouses and children.
Among the group were Thomas BUSH and his family and Thomas VOWLES. These settlers moved on to Melbourne, Australia after three years.
