Hi Scott;
The correct url forthe 1901 census is http://www.census.pro.gov.uk/http://www.census.pro.gov.uk/.It is quite easy to use.If you view it in explorer you can also access a number code which will allow you to find all members of the household .This will help to narrow down your search expecially if you know the names of children.After you have filled out the form for the person you are looking for you will be shown a results page.To the left of the surname is an icon that will highlight that it is a chargeable item.While hovering over this icon you can see a series of letters and numbers at the botton of your screen.Write down the number on the right (usually about 6 numbers).When you start checking for other members of the household you can check for the same number at the bottom of the screen.This is especially helpful for common names.It also allows you to eliminate some names before you pay to view the whole census image.I have been very succesful in tracking down family members this way.
Good luck
