marriage certificate

i recently put an message on this site about me trying to find the wedding dateof a catherine connor to john mayoh
i was given avol number of 8c and a page number of 1685
year 1912but when i applied for the certificate the registry officephoned me and told me there was not such details on that number or name can anyone helpis there
anywhere else i can check i have checked all the 1837ten years either side of my fathersdob but cannot find a marriage date at all
