I was evacuated to Abergvenny, Monmouthshire, Wales, from London during WWII.We stayed on a farm within walking distance of the Sugar Loaf Mountain.I contracted infantile paralysis (now called polio of course) while there when I was two years old, so in 1941/42. I was there with my mother,(Gladys Macleod)and her two sisters, (May Chapman with her twin daughters Barbara and Shirley; and Amy Dadswell).
My cousins, Barbara and Shirley, were older than me at 5 years old and went to a school in or near Abergavenny.
I am wondering if there would be any school records where I could find out Barbara and Shirley's school attendance, which might give me an address of where we all stayed and for how long?
I would appreciated any suggestions, also any reports of the outbreak of polio at that time. Thank you. Denise
