Re: Findley and McClain of Chambers Co. AL

I am researching the McClains.There was a George(P. or S.) McClain in Chambers County, Al. on the 1850 and 1860 Chambers Co.,Al. census.The census reads:

George (PorS) McClain, age 49, b.S.C. Farmer
Elizabeth McClain, wife, age 37, b.Ga
children:
Mary J. age 22, b.GA
James T., age 20,b.GA
Rebecca, age 18. b.GA
William L., age 18, b.GA
Martha A. age 16. b. Alabama
Susan E., age 12, b.Al
Sanford A., age 10,b.Al
John R.,age 8, b.Al
Sidney P., age 6, b.Al
Joseph H., age 2, b.Ala

The two censuses indicate that George and his family moved to Ala. before 1847 from Georgia.
