Anderson and Rasco Families
I am looking for additional information on an Elizabeth Anderson who was enumerated in the 1870 census of Clay County Alabama residing in the household of Charles J. Rasco.
The Elizabeth Anderson was born in S.C. about 1806 and is believed to have been the Widow of Phillip Anderson (see 1860 Chensus of Talladega County Alabama). Elizabeth Anderson had a least one son named William C. Anderson who married an Elizabeth Lott. W.C. Anderson was apparently killed in the Civil War and his widow Elizabeth (lott) Anderson married Rev. Gibson W. Joiner about 1865 and they removed their family to Bell County Texas leaving the elder Elizabeth Anderson to live with C. J. Rasco.
Need to confirm exactly what relationship was Elizabeth Anderson to C.J. Rasco and what Elizabeth's maiden sur-name was. Elizabeth was born in S.C. according to the censuses. Where in S.C.? She apparently lived in Georgia prior to coming to Alabama. Where in Georgia? Did she died in Alabama? When and where? Where is she buried and doed she have a tombstone?
At one time Elizabeth Anderson and her son's family were members of The County Line Baptist Church of Christ in Clay County. She was dismissed in 1860. Her son, W.C. was dismissed due to his death. W. C. Anderson widow and children as well as those of Rev. Gibson W. Joiner were dismissed in 1865 when they removed to Bell County Texas.
Any help would be appreciated.
James R. Rasco
