You may already have this info, but thought if not, you might like to have it.
I was in Fayette, AL today and copied the following from a book by Mr. Sullivan, "The History of Newtonville and Its Pioneer Citizesn" I did not get the publication date.
Page 39Holliman
"Cornelius and Warren, brothers, and Charles Holliman, whom we think was their uncle or possibly a first cousin, came from North Carolina in 1836 and settled here.Warren and Cornelius lived on the Yerby place, while Charles homesteaded the western half of the Whitney place, also part of the land owned by A.J. Gibson and Mrs. Blakeney. His home was the old Whitney house that was burned recently.
I am told that Frank and Sid Holliman of the Chapel Hill community were decendents of Charles Holliman.
Warren stayed here only a few years.History of Arkansas, (Goodspeed) states "Hon. Warren Holliman, born in Anson County, N.C. moved to Alabama in 1836, then moved to Arkansas in 1840, located in Prattsville. He improved a large farm on which he lived until his death in 1876.He was Internal Improvement Commissioner, member of the house of State Legislature and other offices.
Cornelius, born 1792 in South Carolina, married Mary Plyler. He came to Alabama in the fall of 1835, he and several others camped during the winter and in the spring went back to Carolina and brought their families to their new homes.
James M. Holliman, great grandson of Cornelius, born 1876, was Post-Master at Hico at one time, was associated with his brother in the mercantile business in Fayette. He was a practicing attorney in Fayette and later in Birmingham, where he died in 1938.He was married to Elizabeth Baker.
Their children:
Cecil Holliman, Attorney in Birmingham
James HOlliman, died at about the age of one year.
Charles Holliman, Merchant and public official in Birmingham."
I hope this helps you in some way.
